At Drawlink we are able to take most any format of file and convert to another format. If it is not possible to convert the file to the desired format we can redraw the image in CAD format.
Automated Conversion - CadServer
Quickly convert Autodesk™ DWG and DXF, Adobe PDF, Hewlett-Packard Graphics Language HP-GL and HP-GL/2, and MicroStation DGN files into popular CAD, technical illustration and raster formats using this automated system.
Faced with the challenge of converting your AutoCAD™ or MicroStation* files to another format that can be viewed in a Web browser? Or maybe your files need to be opened in another drawing program--without loss of detail? CadServer™ is the answer--in ease of use, in comprehensive conversion parameters and in the breadth of output formats.
Automated Conversion
CADServer 3 facilitates conversion into an impressive array of output file formats. CADServer, originally introduced in 1998, can process an entire directory tree in a single operation and convert all qualifying files into the designated output format(s). CADServer 2 can be scheduled to regularly scan selected directories (and their subdirectories) for new or changed drawings and convert them as they are detected. The number of files that can be converted is only limited by the hard drive space on the host computer.
Enhanced PDF Output
CadServer features the most advanced PDF output of any CAD conversion tool. It supports 40 and 128-bit encryption, multiple levels of compression, password protection of PDF files, numerous levels of permission setting, advanced font support and a whole lot more. Check out our Advanced PDF page for more information.
Of course, it uses vector PDF for the highest fidelity, not raster PDF of questionable quality. CadServer also features greatly improved vector PostScript and Encapsulated PostScript output.
Multiple File Conversion
CadServer can perform multiple file conversion operations, including user-configurable wildcard specifications, allowing a user to convert one, a few or all of the files in a directory or directory tree.
Raster Output
CadServer can automatically create many raster output formats including JPEG, TIFF, CCITT TIFF (or TIFF Group IV), GIF and PNG files for a wide range of raster drawing needs.
For web use we recommend GIF or PNG over JPEG. JPEG may be more widely used, but it is not well suited for output of line drawings. PNG (Portable Network Graphics) is the format widely touted as the replacement for GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) files since GIF files were subject to royalties to Unisys up until June 22nd, 2004.
If your application can support them, then TIFF Group IV is the the best format for line drawings. It only supports Black and White, but it is highly compressed and large drawings with high resolution are possible while still maintaining small file size.
The raster formats supported depend on the operating system used, but JPEG, TIFF and GIF are supported on all platforms except AIX and HP-UX.
